Triple Fresh Market in East Fallowfield just a few miles south of Coatesville, is celebrating three decades of successful operations thanks to the its adaptability, writes Brian McCullough for Daily Local News.
According to owners, the Petro family, the store in its two-century-old building continues to thrive because it refuses to get stuck in history. Today, Triple Fresh provides a deli and takeout service alongside its locally sourced produce and fresh-cut meats.
The store still offers rows of groceries and has no plans of changing that any time soon, said the younger Petro. However they know that to survive they need to offer shoppers more, which he feels they have achieved through their personalized services, convenience, and catering business.
“That’s what this generation demands from a store this size,” said James Petro Jr.
The market also sells its own marinara sauce and barbecue sauces along with Thorndale-made Big Boize BBQ Sauce, Doe Run Farm cheeses, and a number of Amish farm products and local meats.
“I don’t know that you could open a place like this anymore,” said James Petro III, who runs the market with his father, James Petro Jr.
