Members of the Episcopal Church of the Trinity had their first “Give-Back Day” to the community of Coatesville, as part of their year-long 150th anniversary celebration.
Members started at the church in the center of town. They split into four “pickup teams” to do a “bridge-to-bridge” trash pickup along Lincoln Highway.
Two teams went west on Lincoln Highway (one team on each side of the street) to the bridge at that end of the city, and two teams went east to the other end.
At least 12 bags of trash were collected. At the end of the collection, members returned to the church where two other members had prepared a light lunch for the team.
Members also assisted with spring cleaning in the Coatesville Community Garden, located next to the church.
PennDOT supplied traffic vests, gloves, and trash bags as part of its “Keep America Beautiful: Great American Cleanup – Pennsylvania” program for Earth Day 2018.
The Episcopal Church of the Trinity’s anniversary celebration will feature numerous special events, musical concerts, and religious services. Click here for more information.
