The Little Chef restaurant recently celebrated 65 years on Strode Avenue in Coatesville by offering a 65 percent discount to customers, writes Lucas Rodgers for the Daily Local News.
The Little Chef has been a staple in the West End for decades. It originally opened in 1953 and is currently owned by brothers Nick, John, and Pete Lymberis and Sara Lymberis, Nick’s wife, who purchased the restaurant nearly two decades ago.
Nick said the goal of the celebratory discount was to give back to people in the community who patronize the eatery. It was not advertised ahead of time, so it was a nice surprise for customers.
He said that the family also wanted to honor their father, who passed away six years ago. Nick said he was the one who used to take the three boys to the Little Chef as kids. They all eventually ended up working there, and finally bought the restaurant.
Many residents came to celebrate with the family. The restaurant was also decorated with flowers and colorful balloons for the celebration.
“It’s been a good turnout,” said John. “I’m very thankful and very blessed.”
