Aaron Young, considered one of the top running backs in the states, has his choice of schools to further his academic and football career, writes Marc Narducci for Philly.com.
Young, who is currently preparing for his senior year at Coatesville, already had 26 scholarship offers by early summer.
His football talent and prowess runs in the family. His father Anthony Young was an accomplished football player before suffering a career-ending neck injury. Then both of his older brothers, Jordan and Avery, set a high bar for Young to beat.
“My older brothers tried to roughhouse me, and it always helped me in the long run, staying up with them,” said Young.
While he also plays basketball and runs track, Young’s main passion is football. He has extraordinary speed and uncommon power for a player who is 5-foot-10 and weighs 192 pounds. Last season, he rushed for 1,700 yards and 35 touchdowns on 171 carries. He also had 43 receptions for 370 yards and seven touchdowns.
“My parents always preached that to go anywhere in life, you have to do well academically, and that always stuck with me,” Young said.
