Coatesville High School senior Aaron Young, one of the most dynamic and productive running backs in the state, has committed to Michigan State, writes Rick O’Brien for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Young said that one of the deciding factors was the relationship he has developed with Spartans coach Mark Dantonio.
“I was real comfortable in talking with him,” said Young. “Also, I liked the plan he had for me when I get to college.”
Young opted for Michigan State over Northwestern and Rutgers, while Arkansas and Penn State were also in the running.
“A lot of Michigan State running backs have gone on to play in the NFL, including Le’Veon Bell, and that was something I liked,” Young said.
This season, Young has carried 91 times for 895 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Red Raiders are 9-0 overall.
His two older brothers are also playing college football. Jordan Young is a linebacker at Old Dominion and Avery Young is a defensive back at Rutgers.
