Coatesville High School running back Aaron Young has decommitted from Michigan State to instead sign a National Letter of Intent with Rutgers, writes Bobby Deren for 247Sports.com.
One of the reasons for Young’s change of heart was his older brother Avery, who started as freshman cornerback this season with the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers coach Chris Ash was happy to land the talented prospect.
“We’ve been recruiting Aaron for a couple of years,” he said, noting that the team really liked Young’s versatility.
“He can play running back, he can play slot, we think he can be an impact returner,” Ash said.
Young received offers from 24 schools. He seriously considered joining Penn State before committing to Michigan State in late October. However, he kept visiting the Rutgers campus to see his brother.
By accepting the scholarship, Young becomes the highest-rated recruit in Rutgers’ football class of 2019.
